Name: Alison Armstrong
City: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Occupation: Beading broad
Moody but creative ever since I was a small fry, I have always loved to make things. I've beaded and stitched and glued and painted and glittered and inked and sculpted my way on down the road. Yes, I have hot-glued my upscale-salon manicured nails to my desk the night before my wedding (I was making a basket to hold the programs), but what crafty gal hasn't?
Since jewelry was my first crafty love, I keep returning to it throughout the years, constantly searching for new treasures to turn into fabulous baubles & doo-dads for the masses. Everything Works If You Let It is my little wayward child & a one-gal show. I do all of it, from searching high and low for the funkiest beads and charms, to hand-making every bauble & doo-dad, to marketing & shipping out the goodies. I am someone who is "hard" on the jewelry that I wear (pulling it during the day, twisting it around in my fingers--you know the drill). Because of this, I make sure that every piece stands up to everyday wear, even for the delicate customers. I assume that everyone wearing my creations is going to be as hard on them as I am, so I make sure they're tough little cookies before they head out the door. I'm also a nerd about getting things shipped out quickly. I hate waiting for things I buy to show up in the mail, and I want customers who are happy as clams.
I also do several local arts and crafts shows in Albuquerque every year and try load up my table each time with as many baubles as possible. Stop by if you're in ABQ. The dates will be posted on this site as soon as they're announced.
I originally hail from Chicagoland, but I make my current home near the Sandia Mountains of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I share my humble abode with my adoring husband, Gary, and our wild and crazy pooch, Lulu. They have learned to live with the glitter in the sink & the beads in the couch cushions. We are also happily awaiting the first non-fur child addition to our family, coming in the summer of '08.
I thank you for stopping by my little spot on the web.
